Baseball Recap: El Paso-Gridley Takes a Loss

El Paso-Gridley managed to slip by Fieldcrest the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Titans came up short against the Knights on Friday, falling 14-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Titans have suffered since March 17th.

El Paso-Gridley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joah Knapp, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Knapp has become a key player for the Titans: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-8 otherwise.

El Paso-Gridley has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for Fieldcrest, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. El Paso-Gridley will head out to face off against Delavan at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Fieldcrest, they will head out on the road to square off against Deer Creek-Mackinaw at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
