Recap: Smiths Station Panthers vs. JAG Jaguars
The Smiths Station Panthers''s 14-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Friday. They came out on top against JAG by a score of 16-8. The victory was just what Smiths Station needed coming off of a 42-14 defeat in their prior matchup.
Smiths Station can attribute much of their success to Quenton Brooks, who rushed for 169 yards and two touchdowns. Brooks is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Smiths Station's victory bumped their record up to 1-7. As for JAG, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 0-8.
Smiths Station will square off against Percy Julian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Percy Julian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Smiths Station in Alabama (Percy Julian is ranked 44th, while Smiths Station is ranked 132nd). As for JAG, they will be playing at home against Enterprise at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
