After only ten points in their last matchup, Torrey Pines made sure to put some points up on the board against Escondido on Friday. The Falcons breezed past the Cougars to the tune of 34-7. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Falcons' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Torrey Pines can attribute much of their success to Blake Miller, who threw for 168 yards and three touchdowns. Those three passing touchdowns gave Miller a new career-high.

Torrey Pines' win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-2. As for Escondido, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Torrey Pines will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Carlsbad at 7:15 p.m. on October 3. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Falcons 14, the Lancers 9.8) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Escondido, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-6 loss against Holtville on the 26th.
