Softball Game Preview: Mitchell Mountaineers vs. Hendersonville Bearcats

The Mitchell Mountaineers will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Hendersonville Bearcats at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Mitchell lost 9-2 to Hendersonville on Tuesday. The Mountaineers have struggled against the Bearcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meetings.

Mitchell got a good showing from Brianna Nutter, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. The dominant performance gave Nutter a new career-low in earned runs.

At the plate, Mitchell saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zaiden Ayers, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
