Basketball Recap: Marana Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Marana challenged Cienega on Tuesday. The Marana Tigers fell 82-71 to the Cienega Bobcats. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Bobcats recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Thomas Noyes was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 14 rebounds for Cienega. Those 14 rebounds gave Noyes a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Golembieski, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds.

Marana's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Cienega, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marana will host Cibola at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Marana's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Cienega, they will challenge Nogales at 7:00 p.m. on January 21st.
