Basketball Recap: Cheyenne Wells Snags Fifth Victory in Last Six Games

Cheyenne Wells won the last time they faced Genoa-Hugo/Karval, and Paige Ryser did her part to make sure it happened again. The Cheyenne Wells Tigers took down the Genoa-Hugo/Karval Pirates 43-29 on Saturday thanks in part to Ryser, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last ten games she's played.

Genoa-Hugo/Karval lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jayli Lockhart, who posted eight points and four steals. Those four steals gave Lockhart a new career-high. Rylee Corn was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.

Cheyenne Wells is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Genoa-Hugo/Karval, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Cheyenne Wells wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 44-34 defeat against Greeley County on the 28th. Genoa-Hugo/Karval has also already played their next match, a 49-47 loss against Fleming on the 28th.
