Basketball Recap: Springfield Blue Devils vs. Bowling Green Bobcats
Springfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a hard 51-36 fall against the Bowling Green Bobcats. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 40-36 back in December of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Springfield saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Monica Barrena went 6 of 14 en route to 16 points along with eight boards and three steals. Those 16 points gave Barrena a new career-high. Jahonnah Felder also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.
Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Bowling Green, they moved to 5-13 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.
