Basketball Recap: Robinson Triumphs

Robinson won the last time they faced West, and Landen Turnbo did his part to make sure it happened again. The Robinson Rockets escaped with a win on Friday against the West Trojans by the margin of a single free throw, 56-55 thanks in part to Turnbo, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 16 points and five steals. The matchup was his third in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Tindell, who posted 15 points and three blocks. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in blocks.

Despite the loss, West still got an impressive performance from Easton Rinewalt, who went 6 of 8 from beyond the arc on his way to 26 points and seven steals. With that strong performance, Rinewalt is now averaging an impressive 15.9 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Poteet, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.

Robinson's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for West, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.

Robinson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 47-43 victory against Tenaha on the 13th. As for West, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-58 win against Whitney on the 13th.
