Basketball Game Preview: Strathmore Spartans vs. Mendota Aztecs

The Strathmore Spartans and the Mendota Aztecs will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Strathmore picked up another tournament win on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Liberty 66-35. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 26 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Mendota posted their closest win since February 9th on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Torres, sneaking past 45-42.

Strathmore is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Mendota, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 5-6.

Strathmore might still be hurting after the 55-34 loss they got from Mendota when the teams last played back in December of 2017. Thankfully for Strathmore, Rosendo Garcia (who went 7 for 15 on his way to 18 points and five rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
