Football Game Preview: Samson Tigers vs. Abbeville Yellowjackets + How To Watch

The Samson Tigers will take on the Abbeville Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Samson is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Ariton on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Tigers were beaten by the Purple Cats 47-14. The Tigers have struggled against the Purple Cats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

The losing side was boosted by Kelin Hornsby, who rushed for 90 yards on only seven carries.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 59-20, which was the final score in Abbeville's tilt against Cottonwood on Thursday.

Samson now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Abbeville, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Samson was dealt a bruising 46-13 loss at the hands of Abbeville in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Tigers were down 28-7.
