Basketball Recap: Countryside Christian Takes a Loss

Countryside Christian was the 57-45 winner over Redeemer Christian when they last played one another on December 3rd, but their luck changed this time around. The Countryside Christian Minutemen lost 57-33 to the Redeemer Christian Lions on Saturday. The Minutemen's loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Redeemer Christian found their leader in sophomore Graidy Hughes, who shot 4-for-5 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hughes has scored all season. Alaric Morgan was another key player, putting up ten points.

Countryside Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Redeemer Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-9.

After both having extra time off, Countryside Christian and Saint Francis Catholic will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Redeemer Christian, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Redeemer Christian Lions challenge the Cornerstone Academy Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Redeemer Christian is facing Cornerstone Academy at the right time seeing as Cornerstone Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
