Basketball Recap: Shaker Heights Gets Big Win over Higher-Ranked Cleveland Heights

Shaker Heights was handed a 53-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Cleveland Heights Tigers 44-42. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Red Raiders' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 345th, while the Tigers are ranked 128th).

Cleveland Heights lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Robbie Caldwell, who posted ten points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Sanai Alexander, who earned ten points and eight rebounds.

Shaker Heights moved to 7-11 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Cleveland Heights, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-5.
