Softball Game Preview: Rector Cougars vs. Marmaduke Greyhounds

The Rector Cougars are taking a road trip to square off against the Marmaduke Greyhounds at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Stuttgart hit Rector with a six-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars lost 12-5 to the Ricebirds. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Marmaduke fell victim to Riverside and their airtight pitching crew last Thursday. They came up short against the Rebels, falling 16-0. The Greyhounds haven't had much luck with the Rebels recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Rector now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Marmaduke, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Everything went Rector's way against Marmaduke in their previous matchup on March 6th, as Rector made off with a 21-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
