Pontotoc has gone a perfect 5-0 against West Point recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Warriors are taking a road trip to challenge the Green Wave at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Pontotoc's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

If Pontotoc beats West Point with 61 points on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Warriors walked away with a 61-52 victory over Louisville on Tuesday. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 224th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pontotoc got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Omaree Scott out in front who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Dalyn Powell, who posted 16 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Point). They were the clear victors by a 79-53 margin over Aliceville on Friday. The Green Wave have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 26 points or more this season.

Pontotoc pushed their record up to 7-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points over those games. As for West Point, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.

Pontotoc beat West Point 39-31 in their previous matchup back in January. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Green Wave have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
