Spanish Fort faced Daphne in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Toros won by a run and slipped past the Trojans 8-7. The win was familiar territory for the Toros, who have now won six contests in a row.

Maggie Pollock was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Haley Hart was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

Spanish Fort's victory bumped their record up to 28-6. As for Daphne, with the loss, they broke their nine-game winning streak and moved their record to 26-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spanish Fort will welcome McCracken County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Toros have won 17 straight at home dating back to last season, while the Mustangs won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Daphne, they will take on Robertsdale at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
