Humble Christian falls despite strong effort from Noah Vickers

Recap: Humble Christian Cougars vs. Texas Christian Tigers

After flying high against The Connection School of Houston Bears last Saturday, the Humble Christian Cougars came back down to earth. Humble Christian ended up on the wrong side of a tough 62-41 walloping at the hands of Texas Christian on Tuesday. Humble Christian has not had much luck with Texas Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Despite the loss, Humble Christian still got an impressive performance from Noah Vickers, who scored 22 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Vickers has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Aayden Dozier was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five steals.

Texas Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brecken Pelzel out in front who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds. Pelzel is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Daniel Williams, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds.

Humble Christian's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-9. As for Texas Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-8.

Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing School of the Woods the next time they take the court. Humble Christian will host School of the Woods at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Texas Christian will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
