Basketball Recap: Cristo Rey Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Cristo Rey kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They received a blow as they fell 58-44 to BridgePrep Academy. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

Despite the loss, Cristo Rey still got an impressive performance from Omarian Goree, who posted 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of McAndy Oreste, who put up 13 points.

Cristo Rey and BridgePrep Academy will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Monarchs see the court they'll take on Mater Biscayne Academy at 7:30 p.m. on December 4. As for BridgePrep Academy, their break will end when they face Pinecrest North Preparatory at 4:00 p.m. on December 8.
