Baseball Recap: Encinal Starts Season with Win at Home

Encinal took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Lincoln Mustangs as the Encinal Jets made off with a 9-1 win.

The team relied heavily on Anthony Wilson, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Evan Furuichi, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Encinal wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 4-1 victory against Las Lomas on the 25th. As for Lincoln, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-3 loss against University on the 25th.
