Basketball Recap: Eva Amenhauser's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Estrella Foothills over Eastmark

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Estrella Foothills couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 48-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eastmark Firebirds on Tuesday.

Estrella Foothills lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Eva Amenhauser, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 14 boards. She has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last five times she's played. Chanel Yellowman was another key player, putting up 12 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Estrella Foothills' loss dropped their record down to 34-5. As for Eastmark, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-3 record this season.

Estrella Foothills does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Eastmark, they will square off against Flagstaff at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
