Soccer Recap: Mission Viejo Takes a Loss

While it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Mission Viejo was not quite San Juan Hills's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell just short of the San Juan Hills Stallions by a score of 3-2. While losing is never fun, the Diablos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 843rd, while the Stallions are ranked 77th).

Mission Viejo's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for San Juan Hills, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mission Viejo will square off against San Clemente at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. San Clemente is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.7 goals per game this season. As for San Juan Hills, they will take on Aliso Niguel at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. San Juan Hills' last four matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
