Basketball Recap: White River Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for White River, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Decatur Golden Gators by a score of 81-71 on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 83-74 back in December of 2024.

Decatur lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Dar Mcjimpson Jr, who went 11 of 20 en route to 31 points. Those 31 points gave Mcjimpson Jr a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jorge Martinez, who went 7 for 16 on his way to 14 points along with eight assists and eight boards.

White River has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.3 points per game. As for Decatur, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.

White River has already played their next game, a 61-50 victory against Kent-Meridian on the 31st. As for Decatur, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 87-62 loss against Auburn Mountainview on the 31st.
