Baseball Recap: Concord Minutemen vs. NorthWood Panthers

Concord put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They blew past the NorthWood Panthers 11-5. The win was nothing new for Concord as they're now sitting on three straight.

Alex Jimenez tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits.

At the plate, Andrew Kavanagh and Troy Deaton did most of the damage at the plate: Kavanagh scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3, while Deaton scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Stewart, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

On NorthWood's side, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Warren, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Mason Bogan, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Concord has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for NorthWood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Concord will take on Plymouth at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Concord is facing Plymouth at the right time seeing as Plymouth is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for NorthWood, they will head out on the road to square off against Northridge at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Northridge and NorthWood are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
