Softball Recap: Del Sol Dragons vs. Sports Leadership & Management Bulls

After flying high against The Meadows School last Monday, Del Sol came back down to earth. The Del Sol Dragons took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sports Leadership & Management Bulls on Friday. The Dragons were not able to make up for their loss to the Bulls from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Adaya Lash was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Sunshine Rivera and Cainell (Nelly) McNary stepped up to the plate in a big way. Rivera went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one triple, while McNary scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Rivera is crushing it when it comes to hits: she's got at least three every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Breanna Figueroa, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Del Sol's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Sports Leadership & Management, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Looking ahead, Del Sol will square off against Sunrise Mountain at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Del Sol is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.2 runs per game this season. Sports Leadership & Management will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Democracy Prep Agassi Campus at 3:30 p.m. on March 24th.
