Baseball Recap: Roanoke Rapids Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Roanoke Rapids lost to Northern Nash back in March of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets won by a run and slipped past the Knights 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Yellowjackets have posted since April 10, 2024.

Carson Duncan was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Sawyer Williams, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI.

Roanoke Rapids was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northern Nash only posted a batting average of .214.

The victory was the third in a row for Roanoke Rapids, bringing their record up to 7-4. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Northern Nash, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Roanoke Rapids will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Knights: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
