Santa Monica is a perfect 10-0 against Hawthorne since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Eddie Jennings was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Santa Monica saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eric Gonzalez, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Hawthorne lost 19-2 to Beverly Hills on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Normans: they've now lost five in a row.

Santa Monica's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Hawthorne, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Santa Monica beat Hawthorne 5-1 when the teams last played back in March of 2019. Will Santa Monica repeat their success, or does Hawthorne has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
