Baseball Recap: Knox Find Success

While Knox didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the West Central Trojans on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Redskins in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won five in a row.

Raymond Boys made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Knox is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4 otherwise. Boys was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, Chase Fletcher was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Myles Mclaughlin, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Knox's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for West Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Knox will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Trojans: the pair will be back at it again later today.
