Basketball Recap: Central Takes a Loss

After flying high against Tripoli last Tuesday, Central came back down to earth. The Warriors came up short against the Maquoketa Valley Wildcats on Monday, falling 44-24. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 52-15 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Central dropped their record down to 1-1 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Central won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Clayton-Ridge at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give the Warriors their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Maquoketa Valley, they and Starmont will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played.
