Recap: Fivay Falcons vs. Gulf Buccaneers
It was a good run, but The Fivay Falcons unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were dealt a 54-14 loss at the hands of Gulf. Fivay was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Antonio Muniz continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Gulf, rushing for 202 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry, and also picking up 86 receiving yards. Muniz is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Ethan Holewski also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Gulf's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB 4.5 times. Leading the way was Travis Rackard and his two sacks.
Fivay's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Gulf, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.
Fivay will head out on the road to face off against River Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Gulf will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Nature Coast Tech at 7:30 p.m. on November 3rd. Nature Coast Tech is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
