Union Pines had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the West Johnston Wildcats.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Union Pines who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 23-25, 25-14, 23-25, 15-12.

Union Pines' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mylee Scruggs led the charge by getting 15 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Scruggs has posted since back in October of 2024. Madelyn Perkins was another key player, getting 18 assists and seven digs.

They weren't the only good server: Union Pines was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. They served one more ace than West Johnston's also-impressive total of ten.

Union Pines' win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for West Johnston, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.
