Basketball Recap: Lee Williams Comes Up Short

Lee Williams came up into this matchup off a tough 37-point loss on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Green Valley Gators by a score of 39-37 on Friday. The Volunteers just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

Green Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jazmine Ramirez led the charge by putting up 14 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Those eight boards gave Ramirez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianessa Vazquez, who posted 12 points and six steals.

Lee Williams' loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Green Valley, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-9.

Lee Williams will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mingus at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Mingus is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.3 points per game this season. As for Green Valley, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 58-26 loss against Las Vegas on the 28th.
