Baseball Game Preview: Seminary Bulldogs vs. West Marion Trojans

For the second straight game, Seminary will face off against West Marion. The Bulldogs will head out to take on the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Seminary is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

Seminary is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They blew past West Marion 7-1. Considering the Bulldogs have won 21 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For West Marion's part, they got a good showing from Sam Smith, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Smith has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, West Marion saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andre Sumrall, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Seminary pushed their record up to 30-8-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for West Marion, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 16-17 record.
