Basketball Recap: Windsor Charter Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Frontier Academy last Wednesday, Windsor Charter Academy came back down to earth. The Windsor Charter Academy Firebirds lost 64-38 to the Yuma Outlaws on Friday. The Firebirds were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-16.

Despite the loss, Windsor Charter Academy still got an impressive performance from Sadie Curry, who went 5-for-11 on her way to 12 points. Jadyn Jones was another key player, putting up six points and three steals.

Jade Lungwitz was a one-woman wrecking crew for Yuma as she went 8-for-18 en route to 23 points and four steals. That's the most points Lungwitz has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Nighswonger, who scored eight points in addition to seven assists and seven boards.

Windsor Charter Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Yuma, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Windsor Charter Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Yuma, they will challenge Resurrection Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Resurrection Christian will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Yuma surely won't give up without a fight.
