Softball Recap: Gilmer Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Gilmer ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Lindale Eagles. The victory was familiar territory for the Buckeyes, who have now won four contests in a row.

Gilmer pushed their record up to 22-4-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Lindale, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-10-1 record this season.

Gilmer will have a chance to go back-to-back against Lindale: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
