Basketball Recap: Ben Lomond Takes a Loss

Ben Lomond played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the South Summit Wildcats and fell 58-16. The Scots haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Payton Huff was Ben Lomond's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Aliyah Gonzalez held things down on the boards with five rebounds.

South Summit had a senior duo take command as Emma Broadbent dropped a double-double on 21 points and 21 boards and Mariah Bowen went 9 of 19 on her way to 23 points and six steals. Broadbent's evening made it 22 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taya Rose, who posted five points and four steals.

Ben Lomond's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for South Summit, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Ben Lomond will venture away from home to take on Union at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Summit, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the South Summit Wildcats face off against the Ogden Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Summit is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.8 points per game this season.
