League recap: Boeckman breaks off league-leading run for Okeene

A District 1 recap October 8, 2013

Blake Boeckman of Okeene ran for the longest rushing play in A District 1 this season against Hooker last week. Boeckman ran for 58 yards on the play and finished with 58 on the day as his team bested the Bulldogs.

Texhoma moved up to 132 from 159 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Red Devils were able to move up by topping Mooreland 45-21.

Brett Fast threw for 177 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 10-13 with 1 interception.

Jensen Smith was the best receiver in the league this week as Fairview defeated Turpin. Smith racked up 3 receptions for 80 yards. Braxton McCue helped Fairview's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 35 yards.

An important game coming up in A District 1 this week will be when Oklahoma Bible takes on Texhoma. As it stands, the Trojans are in second, while Aaron Witten's team is in fourth.

The Yellowjackets led the league in scoring this week after putting up 47 points on the Cardinals. Fast ran for 50 yards during the win.
