Soccer Game Preview: South County vs. Justice

The South County Stallions will challenge the Justice Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. South County will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

South County's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They came out on top against Robinson by a score of 2-0. Give South County's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Justice walked away with it. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Wolves who were credited with the win on Thursday. Justice got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Lake Braddock's four. The victory was all the more spectacular given Justice's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 276th, while Lake Braddock are ranked 54th).

Justice pushed their record up to 5-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for South County, their win bumped their record up to 13-2-1.

Everything went South County's way against Justice in their previous meeting back in June of 2021, as South County made off with an 8-0 victory. Will the Stallions repeat their success, or do Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
