Basketball Recap: Clarksville Academy Takes a Loss

Clarksville Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 66-35 loss at the hands of the Nashville Christian Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-19 back in January.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sicily Robinson Ellington, who went 5 for 6 to rack up 13 points. The dominant performance also gave Robinson Ellington a new career-high in shooting accuracy (83%). Another player making a difference was Layla Clark, who posted six points and four steals.

Clarksville Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Nashville Christian, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-4.

Clarksville Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Mount Juliet Christian Academy on the 7th. As for Nashville Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 45-40 victory against Donelson Christian Academy on the 7th.
