Baseball Recap: North Mustangs vs. McClintock Chargers
North had lost five straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 3-17 to make it six. They came up short against the McClintock Chargers, falling 16-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 on Tuesday.
North saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joey Morales, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.
As for McClintock, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 15.1 runs.
On McClintock's side, Bradford McCurdy spent all four innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Markus Lopez, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Elias Baldwin, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Coming up, North will be playing at home against Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs are facing the Bobcats at the right time seeing as the Bobcats are stuck on a 17-game losing streak. McClintock does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
