Recap: Kansas City East Christian Academy Lions vs. Oak Park Northmen
The Kansas City East Christian Academy Lions suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were beaten by Oak Park 98-48. While losing is never fun, Kansas City East Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while Oak Park is ranked second).
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kevin Johnson, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds. Johnson hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Maddox Carrillo, who scored 15 points.
Kansas City East Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Oak Park, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-1.
Kansas City East Christian Academy will take on Lincoln College Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lincoln College Prep is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Oak Park, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against North Kansas City at 7:00 p.m.
