Basketball Recap: Taylor Takes a Loss

After soaring to 55 points the game before, Taylor was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They were beaten by the Ellison Eagles 59-21. While losing is never fun, the Ducks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 619th, while the Eagles are ranked 204th).

Taylor's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Tiana Candee, who posted six points and 14 boards, and Ursula Rydell, who put up four points and seven rebounds. That's the most boards Rydell has posted since back in February.

Taylor has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Ellison, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-6.

Taylor didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 49-21 loss against Connally on the 12th. After both having extra time off, Ellison and Waco will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 2:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
