Basketball Recap: Momence Takes a Loss

Momence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They fell 56-43 to the Iroquois West Raiders. The Momence Athletics were not able to make up for their loss to the Raiders from their previous meeting back in February of 2020.

When it comes to explaining why Momence lost, don't look at Nick Charbonneau. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 13 en route to 17 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Erick Castillo, who posted nine points.

Momence's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Iroquois West, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Momence has already played their next matchup (against Beecher), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Iroquois West will head out to challenge Hoopeston at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
