Volleyball Recap: Onteora Takes a Loss

Onteora was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Millbrook Blazers, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-14, 25-9.

Millbrook's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alexis Larocca led the charge by getting 17 assists and five aces. That's the most assists Larocca has posted over her last five matchups. Karla Vasquez was another key player, getting nine aces.

Onteora's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Millbrook, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-7-6.

Looking ahead, Onteora will head out to face off against Webutuck at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Millbrook, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 1-1 draw against Bay Shore on the 11th.
