After both having extra time off, the Freedom Christian Academy Patriots and the Village Christian Academy Knights will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Hoke County came into Thursday's match looking for another win against Freedom Christian Academy, but Jake Lawson wouldn't allow it. The Patriots were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bucks two weeks ago with plenty of help from Lawson, who had 20 assists and 12 digs. He has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more assists the last three times he's played.
Freedom Christian Academy walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-16, 25-19.

Freedom Christian Academy can attribute much of their success to Andrew McBroom, who had 12 digs, and Christian Thompson, who had 14 digs, seven kills, four aces, and one block. What's more, Thompson also posted a 12% hitting percentage, which is the highest he's achieved over his last three games. Adrian Hopson also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assists of the season.
Meanwhile, Village Christian Academy made easy work of Fayetteville Academy two weeks ago and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.
While Village Christian Academy won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-16, 25-20.
Village Christian Academy pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Freedom Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.
Freedom Christian Academy might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Village Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in March.
