Baseball Recap: Dora Coyotes vs. Mescalero Apache Chiefs

Dora was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 11-5 to the Mescalero Apache Chiefs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chiefs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-0 on Monday.

Rylan Harris was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. Harris was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4.

Harris wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Roddy Neal, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Another was Ashton Davis, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Dora's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Mescalero Apache, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dora will face off against Gateway Christian at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mescalero Apache, they will venture away from home to take on Lordsburg at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
