Volleyball Recap: Harrisburg Takes a Loss

Harrisburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Benton Rangers. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their loss to the Rangers from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Harrisburg started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-5, 25-18.

Koral Hathaway paced Harrisburg's offense, picking up six kills. Hathaway were helped by Emma Morse and McKendra Douglas, who contributed seven assists each. Finally, Maddie Walker kept Harrisburg's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Harrisburg's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Benton, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Harrisburg wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Frankfort on the 13th. As for Benton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Christopher on the 13th.
