Basketball Recap: Shepherd Takes a Loss

Shepherd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Hargrave Falcons and fell 92-46. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-16.

When it comes to explaining why Shepherd lost, don't look at Brayden White. Despite the final result, he shot 5-for-9 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 33 points and ten boards. That was a full 71.7% of Shepherd's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Cy' Reice Allen also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Shepherd now has a losing record at 16-17. As for Hargrave, their victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 26-2.

Shepherd wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-53 loss against Livingston on the 4th. Hargrave has also already played their next game, a 79-49 win against Tarkington on the 4th.
