Basketball Recap: Winfield Comes Up Short

Winfield suffered their closest defeat since January 18, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the St. Charles Pirates by a score of 48-45. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-39 back in December of 2024.

Winfield has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for St. Charles, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.

Winfield will face off against Mark Twain at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mark Twain has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. St. Charles has already played their next contest (against Orchard Farm), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
