Preview: Independence Patriots vs. Central Bobcats
Independence has been on the road for six straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Central Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you nail eight more threes than your opponent, a fact Independence proved on Thursday. They skirted past Moon Valley 60-57. The victory was just what Independence needed coming off of a 76-40 defeat in their prior match.
Independence's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anthony Colonna led the charge by scoring 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Javon Mcclanahan, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Central on the road against Washington on Wednesday as the squad secured a 77-48 win.
The losses dropped Independence to 1-5 and Moon Valley to 2-3.
Independence took a serious blow against Central in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 76-37. Thankfully for Independence, Jayshawn James (who scored 14 points along with 8 rebounds and 6 assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
