Softball Recap: Lindale Wins Going Away Against Kemp

While Lindale put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Kemp. The Lindale Eagles put the hurt on the Kemp Yellowjackets with a sharp 15-0 win. The contest marked the Eagles' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Kenlee Keith made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (zero). She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Lindale let Emma Watkins and Makynli Zemer run wild. Watkins got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Zemer scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Zemer a new career-high in stolen bases. Zaidyn Chamberlain was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Lindale hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in four consecutive matches.

Lindale is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5-1 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11 runs. This is the second loss in a row for Kemp and nudges their season record down to 1-5-1.

Coming up, Lindale will be playing at home against Brownsboro at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Kemp, it'll be a Battle of the Bugs Kemp Yellowjackets face off against Athens Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
