Recap: Lake Marion Gators vs. Timberland Wolves
The Lake Marion Gators's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 45-35 to Timberland. Lake Marion has not had much luck with Timberland recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Lake Marion lost, one person who can't be blamed is Danasia Wright. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Teonna Allen was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Timberland found their leader in underclassman China Greene, who scored 11 points along with five assists and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Samara Scott, who scored four points along with 14 rebounds.
Lake Marion's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-7. As for Timberland, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Lake Marion will take on Swansea at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Swansea has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Timberland's road trip will continue as they head out to face Bishop England at 2:30 p.m. on January 13th. Bishop England will be looking to extend their current 15-game winning streak.
